Summary: The policies mentioned in this ad are identical to those of Bush in 2008. Have people forgotten that these policies caused the financial crisis and almost sent us into a depression. Good idea? Or should we keep on track with policies that have produced 26 straight months of job growth. it is a pretty clear choice.
Firstly, the entire Keystone Pipeline issue is a Republican scam. The GOP arranged to have the application submitted while it was still incomplete SOLELY for the purpose of being able to say Obama vetoed it. Everyone knows this but the mainstream press hasn’t made it a priority to point out this very obvious point. At the same time, Fox News has mentioned it 20 times a day for the past 6 months. SCAM.
Ending ObamaCare (if this is actually a truthful intention) would mean that insurance companies would immediately be able to cancel 20-30 million people who now qualify with preexisting conditions or are still on their parents insurance policies. Great idea – good way to grow the misery. What common-sence ideas is he suggesting? Who knows. Because he implemented almost exactly the same reforms of ObamaCare in Massachusetts, he has absolutely no credibility on this issue.
Finally, he would not only continue the Bush Tax cuts, he would expand them. For millionaires, this would mean a $200,000 tax savings. For the average middle class person, $700. If 15% tax rates for the rich create so many jobs, where are the jobs? We have had the tax rate for the past 12 years and all we have had to show for it is skyrocketing debt and a near depression.
As Nick Hanauer so elegantly explained in his 6 minute TED speech, Trickle Down is not only a scam that pads the pockets of the ultra-rich, but it is also a proven two-time loser that explodes the debt and erodes the economy. The REAL job creators are not the rich – the real job creators are consumers that have money to spend. As he points out, if a man make 100 time more than another man, he will not buy 100 times the stuff.
